¶New Public DNS from Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1

I used the free CDN service from Cloudflare to host this blog. They have a good record of privacy and security. Now they start to offer a new consumer DNS service to the public under the IP address 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1.

There are a few public DNS services on the market today. The most popular ones are the 8.8.8.8 from Google and 208.67.222.222 from OpenDNS. In my experience, the Google one is normally not very fast, and in particular not available in China. The OpenDNS one is better, however with a unmemorable IP address. I am glad to see this new Cloudflare DNS. Currently, it seems to be the fastest public DNS service in the world.
